Pride in Agriculture “Amplified” During National FFA Convention & ATA Conclave

Opdahl and Schmitt

Brianna Opdahl and Katie Schmitt won First Place in Fundraising for Program of Excellence at the 2015 ATA Conclave.

The National FFA Convention was held in Louisville, Kentucky from October 28-31, 2015. Over 65,173 people participated in the event, and the convention theme was “Amplify.” Many of our Ag Ed students received their American FFA Degrees, the highest honor award from the organization. A list of names can be found on the National FFA website.

For our collegiate students in Agricultural Education and Agricultural Communication & Marketing, participation in the Alpha Tau Alpha Conclave offers an opportunity to engage, compete, and represent the University of Minnesota. The Conclave, held in conjunction with National FFA Convention, involved thirteen University of Minnesota students. The students represented us well, participating in four national contests: Parliamentary Procedure, Program of Excellence, Team Essay, and Quiz Bowl.

We are so proud of all students who represented the Ag Ed Club at the 2015 Alpha Tau Alpha Conclave!
