Note from the Program Leader: Holiday Thank You
by Dr. Brad Greiman, Academic Program Leader
On behalf of faculty and staff, I extend a Happy Holiday greeting to those of you receiving this issue of The Ag Ed Enthusiast! Thank you to the many individuals and organizations who have contributed to the success of our Agricultural Education Program. Your support of our students makes a positive impact on their personal and professional development, and their career success.
I especially thank everyone who has assisted with student recruitment efforts. Your sharing the many positives of the Twin Cities and the prestige and value of a U of M degree with prospective students is appreciated. Your comments about the small-campus feeling of CFANS and the Ag Ed family atmosphere in 146 Ruttan Hall is making a difference. Thank you!
The collective efforts of many people are helping to graduate a larger and larger number of students to meet the increasing job opportunities for students in our majors. Undergraduate enrollment is at a record-high and our 119 students are the highest number we have had over the past 20 years!
The financial support from everyone over the past year has been outstanding. The generosity of scholarship donors has helped students to accomplish their academic and career goals. There are nearly 20 different scholarships/fellowships available to undergraduate and graduate students. I appreciate individuals who have made donations to the U of M and who have designated their gift for Agricultural Education. Further, the Minnesota FFA Foundation’s Star Partner Program continues to provide critical funding for students and our program. Thank you!
In closing, I want to recognize and thank our students, faculty, and staff. Our students are amazing as they balance their academics, campus leadership and involvement, and work schedules. They are fantastic representatives of our program and the U of M, and I appreciate their passion and enthusiasm for their selected career paths. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to the success of our students and are excellent instructors. Together, we make a great team!
Enjoy this issue as you learn more about Agricultural Education. Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year!
