B.S. in Agricultural Education, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities
I grew up on a dairy farm near Austin, Minnesota. I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1979 and began my teaching career in Goodhue, Minnesota. I taught Agricultural Education at Goodhue High School from 1979 – 2014. Ag Ed classes at GHS were very diverse, ranging from agriculture mechanics to the ag sciences and pretty much everything in between. One of the classes I taught was CIS Animal Science through the University of Minnesota. I was the advisor of the FFA chapter as well as the GHS student council. I am currently keeping busy doing various jobs…subbing during the school year (I’ve subbed for every grade level except kindergarten), consulting for the Cannon River Watershed Partnership, mowing fairways at Mount Frontenac Golf Course and working at Sargent’s Nursery in Red Wing. Now I can add “teaching Ag Mechanics at the University of Minnesota” to the list. My wife’s name is Julie and we have three adult children…Carl, Therese and Riley. My interests are spending time with family and friends, golfing and gardening.
