Questions related to Minnesota FFA
B.S.,Communications with a concentration in Organization and Planning, Cornell University
I believe most people are a product of the opportunities and influences they're surrounded by and I am thankful for the life I get to lead because I was exposed to small schools, caring adults and the FFA as a very young person. I learned about passion, work ethic, and relationships through my agricultural education experience and - while my high school guidance counselor repeatedly assured me agriculture classes would be irrelevant to my future - I've spent the last 12 years in love with my career working as part of State FFA Staff.
Outside of work, I'm a fan of storytelling and how diverse and powerful it can be. I am fascinated by science and have two cats named after natural disasters (Magma & Tsunami). I am not a Minnesota native but I've come to appreciate the cozy sturdiness of winter attire, the collective joy every resident expresses about Minnesota summer, and the frenzy at the state fair for Sweet Martha's cookies.
Why the University of Minnesota?
I love the opportunity to see so many FFA members attend college here at CFANS and get the experiences a challenging, connected University like this can provide: career experiences, lifelong networks, and opportunities to learn about themselves and the world around them. It's also pretty convenient that my office is within walking distance of the State FFA Convention and the State Fair for 2 weeks every year!
