Plan B: Advanced Studies & Research

Overview

Professionals who choose the Advanced Studies and Research track are provided with a platform to delve deeper into their particular areas of interest and expertise. This track offers a unique chance to engage with cutting-edge research, work closely with experienced faculty members, and collaborate with peers who share similar passions. In selecting the Advanced Studies and Research track, students are able to not only enhance their current knowledge, but also develop essential critical thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills that are essential for succeeding in today's competitive academic and professional environments.

As part of this track, students can choose one of two areas of emphasis: Agricultural Education or Science Communication.

Agricultural Education

The agricultural education focus area centers on formal and non-formal education within school-based agricultural education programs, extension, and community development.

Science Communication

The science communication focus area centers on communication and marketing within the areas of agriculture, food, natural resources, life, and human sciences.

Curriculum

Our program is designed to be completed over the course of four (4) semesters for full-time students. Part-time students may decide to spread curricular requirements over a longer period of time. Students may take a combination of in-person, hybrid, and/or remote courses.

Working with an assigned advisor, students will select the path that best fits their needs. While there are core requirements all students will take, individuals will play a major role in shaping their own degree program based on personal, academic and professional goals.
