Program
Our flexible program allows students to focus on their education in three primary areas:
Advanced Studies & Research (Plan B)
Agricultural Education
The agricultural education focus area centers on formal and non-formal education within school-based agricultural education programs, extension, and community development.
Science Communication
The science communication focus area centers on communication and marketing within the areas of agriculture, food, natural resources, life, and human sciences.
Initial Licensure (Plan C)
The agricultural education initial licensure program at the University of Minnesota is designed to help you become an accomplished professional educator who can help students succeed in the classroom. The program is for individuals with bachelor's degrees who want to become licensed teachers. You will be engaged in rigorous, professional teacher preparation in accordance with Minnesota Board of Teaching standards.

Admissions is done on a rolling basis with the following semester deadlines:
July 1 - Fall Semester Admission
November 1 - Spring Semester Admission
March 1 - Summer Session Admission
