The Minnesota Teacher Induction Program (TIP) for Agricultural Educators was started during the 1999-2000 school year. The purpose of TIP is to function as a professional learning community for new agricultural education teachers and to support their development, efficacy, success, resilience, and retention. The program is facilitated by the University of Minnesota Agricultural Education faculty/staff and funded through a grant from the Minnesota Ag Ed Leadership Council.
TIP Objectives
- provide monthly professional development
- provide teaching and program resources
- provide instructional coaching and mentoring
- facilitate programing to address early career teacher challenges
- provide an opportunity to analyze and reflect upon teaching
- build teacher efficacy and resilience and influence job satisfaction and teacher retention
