Biography

Background
I grew up on a swine and sheep farm along the Minnesota-Iowa border near Harmony, MN along with my parents and four siblings. Having my mother as a first grade teacher and my father as an Agriculture Extension Educator, it was a natural fit to enter into Agricultural Education.  My best experiences during college included studying abroad in Norway, Iceland, and Costa Rica and student teaching at the Forest Lake Area High School.

I am currently employed as the Executive Director for the Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council (MAELC), a government appointed organization that promotes and expands agricultural education in the state of Minnesota. Prior to this position I was the Program Manager for the University of Minnesota Extension Center for Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences as well as the Program Assistant for MAELC. On campus, I teach AECM 3106: Agricultural Policy and Issues in Minnesota and mentor students through the CFANS Mentor Program. Off campus, I serve on the board of directors for the Minnesota Agriculture and Rural Leadership (MARL) program (Class IX Alum) and am a committee member for the Women's Agricultural Leadership Conference and Networking Group.

Why the University of Minnesota?
My favorite thing about the University of Minnesota is the small-town feel of the St. Paul campus.  I also love the history here and my family's tradition of attending and working at the U.
